Virtual Standby Task fails with error - "Can not mount disk. There's a disk with same signature already mounted"


This happens in Amazon EC2 when both the Source VM and the RPS/Monitor Server where deployed from the same AMI.   Deploying AMI's creates VM with identical disk signature ID.  This may occur in other platforms.


The fix is to change the disk signature of the RPS server using following commands:

Select Disk 0

uniqueid = 34e5f2aa . (this can be any random 8 digit HEX number).
